Induction Training for Councillors with less than 9 months experience
Date - 07/07/18 - Time: 10am to 12noon - Location: Loders Village Hall, Loders, Bridport, Dorset, DT6 3SA - Price: £40
Course content: Understanding Local Government (where does the parish council fit in), who’s who in the parish council, how your council works, the public and communications and sources of help. There will be ample opportunities for questions.
Who should attend: New councillors who have been in post for less than nine months. Any councillors with a little more experience who feel this would be of benefit to them are welcome to attend. Please be aware that this is very much about providing sufficient information to allow councillors to appreciate the basics of local government and to understand their new role as a parish councillor.
Attending this training will also enable new councillors to book to attend the more detailed and in-depth Essentials for Councillors course.

Cost (invoiced after the course): £40 to include coffee/tea on arrival, copies of PowerPoint slides and relevant hand outs. This contributes towards the DAPTC Star Awards for Councillor Development 2018/19 certificate for your council, provided the qualifying criteria is met.
How to book (please ensure bookings are made via the clerk): Booking is easy and safe. Upon completing the booking form, the clerk will receive an immediate automated booking confirmation, along with the delegate (the email address must be entered in the delegate address for joining instructions to be sent to). If confirmation is not received, please contact us as it may indicate we have not received the booking.
