What We Do? - Meet the team at DAPTC

We are running monthly one hour sessions to help new Clerks, elected members and prospective councillors understand how we support members in Dorset. Neil, Debbie and Lisa will be on hand to talk you through the resources available and an overview of the Dorset Association of Parish and Town Councils (DAPTC) and how we link up with National Association of Local Councils (NALC), Dorset Council and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (BCP). We finish each hour with a Q&A. These are free and we are quite happy running these for small groups or individual councils. Just book your slot below for the next most convenient date.

Joining instructions will be sent a week before the session.

Connecting Rural Dorset - Events Held on24th & 25th May

 

Dorset Council’s Digital Place team is keen to encourage closer working on all things digital with parish and town councils.

The digital team would like to run quarterly online meetings on connectivity, skills, leadership and digital use to help develop Dorset as a digital place. The team is keen to hear from parish and town clerks and councillors on key local issues and so that you can request support from the council. These meetings will also be used to update the parishes on latest government or local initiatives and how to access further information.

With lots of connectivity-related initiatives recently launched, or about to be launched, the first session will be on connectivity and broadband. In particular the digital team will introduce and explain the options available to residents and businesses in rural areas on improving their broadband. The second date (25th May) relates to a specific project in North Dorset.

Clerks' Seminar 14 October 2021

 

We are delighted to announce that this year will be back to holding our annual Clerks Seminar at Kingston Maurward College.

As usual, there will be interesting and relevant speakers, opportunities to network with other clerks from around the county, refreshments during the day and the delicious Kingston Maurward 2 course lunch.

An agenda will be published as soon as finalised but you are welcome to book a place below in advance of this.

Dorset COVID 19 Recovery Programme

Thursday 3rd June 2021 - 4.00pm to 5.00pm via Zoom hosted by DAPTC

Now that hopefully the peak of the pandemic has passed in the UK many organisations are thinking about the recovery from Covid 19.  As part of the local resilience work Dorset Council and BCP Council have the lead role under the Civil Contingencies Act to lead the programme for recovery.  For Dorset Council Cllr Noc Lacey-Clarke has been designated as the lead Member for Covid Recovery. 

John Sellgren the Executive Director for Place is the lead officer and also chairs the Local Resilience Forum Recovery Coordination Group.  Noc and John recently presented to Dorset Council Members on the Recovery process and many commented that this presentation would be of interest to Town and Parish Councils.

This event is suitable for officers and elected members and there is no limit per council. This is a free to join session hosted by DAPTC.
