Dorset Council has launched two important consultations for the DC area:
-
Local Plan options consultation - views are being sought on how Dorset should grow and develop over the next 17 years. This consultation explores how development needs across the Dorset Council area could be met between 2026 and 2043, and sets out a range of sites as potential opportunities to provide land for housing, employment, renewable energy, and gypsy/traveller/travelling showpeople. Feedback will help shape the draft Local Plan which, once adopted, will guide planning decisions in Dorset. Note too that there are drop-in sessions around the DC area - details at https://www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/w/come-and-speak-to-us-local-plan-and-local-transport-plan.
-
Local Transport Plan (LTP) - Dorset Council and BCP Council have been working together on a new joint local transport plan to "...ensure our transport systems meets the expectations of everyone, and to identify the most important issues to prioritise future investment". The LTP is at a more advanced stage than the Local Plan, with a draft plan forming the basis of the consultation.
Both consultations close on 13 October and can be accessed along with supporting information at:
