Applications are invited for the position of Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) to Broadwindsor Group Parish Council.

This is a key role providing professional, administrative, and financial support to ensure the efficient and lawful operation of the Council. The role requires excellent communication, organisational, and numeracy skills, together with IT proficiency. The position is primarily home-based; with monthly evening Council meetings held in the parish. Previous experience in a similar role would be desirable but not essential. A laptop and printer will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements governing the Parish Council’s operations.
  • Manage and monitor the Council’s finances, prepare accounts for audit and VAT purposes, and advise Councillors on financial matters.
  • Prepare agendas, attend meetings, take and produce accurate minutes, and implement Council decisions.
  • Manage correspondence and documentation, referring matters to the Council as appropriate.
  • Maintain and update the Council’s website and social media with agendas, minutes, and relevant information.
  • Liaise with Councillors, residents, and partner organisations.
