Findings from the survey open July - November 2025 and born out of A Fresh Start report.
Thank you to councils and individuals who responded to last year's Parish Council Survey which aimed to gather honest views on the challenges facing local areas, priorities for the future and working relationships with Dorset Council. It also extended the themes explored in A Fresh Start report and ensured the perspectives of smaller parishes are equally represented as those from larger councils in shaping the future of local government.
It's not surprising that themes from A Fresh Start have emerged in the findings of the survey namely, concerns from smaller parishes about precept raising ability and the capacity to do more if they were asked. The findings also convey a mixed picture about working relations with Dorset Council - something which is already being acted on and why it's so important to take part in the Community Conversations Design Sessions - USE THIS LINK to find out more.
