It is with great sadness we convey news that Dr Gordon Morris has passed away.
Gordon Morris was a Research Associate of the University of Exeter and has been a part-time lecturer in Community Development at Bournemouth University. His research focused on rural policy and governance, and in the early 2000s he worked on the Market Towns Initiative. He is a Dorset villager and a former parish councillor.
Most notably for DAPTC, Gordon co-authored the Fresh Start Report with Graham Sansom which was published in March 2025.
Gordon's funeral takes place at St Andrew’s Church, Leigh, Sherborne DT9 6HL on Friday 15th August at 3pm. Steve Shield will be attending on behalf of Sherborne TC and Dorset SLCC branch and Neil Wedge will represent DAPTC.
