I work with The Big Lunch team here at the Eden Project and I just wanted to drop you a line about this year's Big Lunch, encouraging you and the councils you work with at Dorset Association of Parish & Town Councils to get involved and take part. We'd love to know about events you're organising or that you're aware of in your area. If you could share information with your councils about the Big Lunch, this would be amazing.

This information is especially useful to councils - and it's never too late for them to get involved, as all sizes and dates can work! Its the getting together that counts.
The Big Lunch for Councils - Supporting and enabling residents to take part and encouraging more people to join in with The Big Lunch can lead to a boost in local volunteering, engagement and an increased sense of belonging – creating lasting benefits to the community.
I thought it would also be helpful to share some ways you can support The Big Lunch - whether it’s through newsletters, websites, or simply sharing our social posts.
What makes The Big Lunch truly big isn’t just the millions of people coming together to share friendship, food and fun each year – it’s that communities all across the UK are celebrating at the same time and we couldn’t do it without the support of organisations, businesses, councils, and schools helping to spread the word.
From individuals to organisations, everyone can be a part of The Big Lunch – whether it’s something planned months in advance, or a small and last-minute lunch, it’s the getting together that counts.

We’ve put together a comms toolkit online here, and it has lots of information you can share with your audiences in support of The Big Lunch. Would you be able to include this in any emails you’re sending out, or share it on your social media channels?
