Stalbridge Town Council has launched a short video to inspire more people to get involved in shaping the town’s future.
With only five councillors currently in post and six seats vacant, the council is urging residents and local workers to step forward. The video highlights the council’s work—from planning and public spaces to community wellbeing—and shows that being a councillor isn’t just about meetings. Councillors are featured explaining what they do, the differences they make and how rewarding the role is. Residents are encouraged to get in touch with the Town Council for an informal chat with no obligation to stand for council.
Vice Chair Paul Hancock said, “The town is growing fast, and with our Future Town Vision Project, we need more hands on deck,” and Councillor Neil Penny added, “I’m keen to get a Neighbourhood Plan off the ground, but we can’t do it without more councillors and involvement from local residents.”
