Langton Matravers is a village of approximately 400 households, in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck, two miles west of Swanage, and nine miles south-east of Wareham, Dorset.
The village is situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and the land use is almost entirely agriculture and tourism.
The Council has eight serving Councillors with one vacancy. The council meets monthly usually on the second Thursday of each month.
