Shillingstone is a large village of approximately 1200 residents, between Blandford Forum and Sturminster Newton, on the A357.

The Council has seven serving Councillors with two vacancies. The council meets monthly usually on the first Thursday of each month (no meeting in August)

The Clerk/RFO manages day to day administration and correspondence, advises on procedures, implements decisions, and prepares and publishes agendas and minutes according to schedule. Effective diplomacy and communication skills are required. As RFO, responsibilities include keeping accurate financial records, preparing documentation for annual auditing purposes, processing invoices and payments, and with councillors, preparing an annual budget.

The Parish Council is seeking a dedicated and organised individual to fill the role of Parish Clerk, and Responsible Financial Officer. The applicant should either hold a CILCA qualification or be prepared to commence the CILCA qualification within two years of commencing the role.
