CONFIRMED DATE: Saturday 30 May 2026 | 10am - 12 noon | online via Zoom
The Dorset Association of Parish and Town Councils (DAPTC) will hold its Annual General Meeting on Saturday 30 May 2026, 10:00am–12:00pm, online via Zoom.
The AGM will begin with welcome remarks from the Chair, followed by keynote contributions from senior local government leaders, including the Leader of Dorset Council, the Leader of BCP Council, and the Chair of the National Association of Local Councils.
The formal business session will include approval of previous minutes, consideration of the Annual Report and audited accounts, setting the 2026/27 subscription, appointment of auditors, and confirmation of the DAPTC Board of Directors.
Members will also debate a series of important motions addressing key issues affecting local councils, including:
- the impact of housing standards on rental supply,
- the financial burden of maintaining closed churchyards, and
- adoption of a Statement of Reasonable Expectations to strengthen working relationships between Dorset Council and parish and town councils.
The meeting provides an important opportunity for member councils to shape DAPTC priorities, influence national and local policy, and contribute to strengthening the local council sector across Dorset.
