After 22 years of dedicated service, Blandford Forum Town Council bids a fond farewell to their Town Clerk.
Linda Scott‑Giles' farewell event, as she leaves her post of Town Clerk, was attended by many current and former colleagues, fellow clerks, councillors, an MP and a number of local residents and community groups.
During her distinguished career, Linda undertook a number of roles within the Council, most notably serving as Town Clerk. In this capacity she played a pivotal role in overseeing the highly successful renovation of the Corn Exchange, a landmark project valued at over £3 million. This complex and ambitious transformation safeguarded one of Blandford Forum’s most cherished historic buildings, ensuring it will continue to serve the community for generations to come. Linda’s attention to detail, calm determination and ability to bring partners together were central to the project’s success.
Beyond individual achievements, Linda will be remembered for her steady hand, deep knowledge of local government, and her unfailing support for councillors, staff and residents alike. She approached every challenge with integrity, warmth and good humour, earning the respect and appreciation of all who worked with her. Pictured here with the current Mayor, Councillor Hugo Mieville, receiving her commendation, Linda’s contribution is rightly recognised as exceptional and her commitment, professionalism and leadership have left a lasting legacy for the town. Blandford Forum Town Council thanks her sincerely for her many years of outstanding service and wishes her every happiness and fulfilment in the next chapter ahead.
